Be Strong in the Lord! Ephesians 6: 10- 19
It is obvious that we are living in times that require us to be strong in the Lord. 2 Tim. 3: 1-7 1 Thes. 5: 1-24
We must be strong in the Lord, Christ Jesus is our only hope. In the power of His might. Christ in you is your hope of glory! Col.1 : 27 1Pet.1 : 13
“Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” Many are suffering today because they have failed to put on the armor of God.
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of the world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
Satan is the god of this world. This explains why we are not to love the world or the things therein. About one-third of the angels followed after Lucifer. Now the world is being engulfed in darkness. Good is called evil and evil is called good. For example, those who kill their unborn babies are being honored as to have done a good thing. Homosexuality has come out of the closet without fear. Murderers and sex offenders are walking free and many innocent are being imprisoned for things they never had done.
Witchcraft and “magic” are considered good but those who believe and expect God to do miracles are considered fanatics.
The power of darkness appears to be taking over but those who are in Christ Jesus have no reason to fear them. 2 Ki. 6 : 16 2 Pet. 2: 4 Ro. 16: 20 Ez. 28: 7 Ez. 30: 11 Ez. 31:12
Vs. 14 “loins girt with truth” the word of God is truth, John 15: 7 (ask what you will) Jesus is the way the truth and the light, the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth. John 15: 26 HAVING on the breastplate of righteousness . Ro.4: 20-24
Vs.15 feet shod, ready to obey the great commission.
The life of Christ is obedience to Christ you can't have one without the other. Jesus said: “ Go ye”
Vs. 16 “above all taking the shield of faith” we cannot stand without it. The word “taking” implies it is a voluntary action and that Faith is available for us to lay hold of. Above all or the most important. We cannot stand in battle without it, nor please God. Those who love God love to please Him and have the faith that worketh by love. Gal. 3:5 T
The refusal of taking up Faith reveals the absence of love.
We come to the faith, we stand in the faith, and we will finish in the faith. To. 5: 1-5 Heb.11:1 & 6 faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence, the proof.
When you hear a powerful testimony of Faith often you say now that is Faith. We must believe that He is (exist) and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him. The believer will stand to the finish. How we finish is by far more important than how we start.
Vs.17 “Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” We take or accept by faith the gift of salvation. Those who have this “helmet”
will be effective in warfare. He who is not preoccupied in his own salvation is able to take the sword and have effective results. Jesus said, “the gates of hell will not prevail against it (church).” Ma. 16: 28 The secure person becomes fearless, bold, or terrible. Acts 4:13 &29 &31
The terrible of the nations, are “ Strong in the Lord.”
Vs.18 “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.” The Strong in the Lord is given to prayer, they pray about everything from the slightest toothache to the governing of the nation's. They are known in the Spirit world. Acts 19:15 And engaged in seeking the Kingdom of God.
